AIclicks vs Semrush: the main difference

AIclicks is built only to track and improve how brands appear in AI answers. Semrush is a broad search marketing platform, and its AI visibility tools sit inside it: an AI Visibility plan sold per domain, AI prompt tracking bundled into its SEO plans, and a free checker. So the question is whether you want a stand-alone tracker or AI tracking next to classic search tools.

Side by side: what each vendor's pages state

• Plan structure: AIclicks sells Starter, Pro and Business by prompts, models and countries. Semrush lists an AI Visibility Base plan priced per domain, SEO plus AI Search plans (Starter, Pro+ and Advanced) and a custom Enterprise tier.
• Prompts: AIclicks lists 30, 150 and 300 tracked prompts. Semrush lists 25 custom prompts on AI Visibility Base, 50 on its SEO plus AI Search Starter, 100 on Pro+ and unlimited on Advanced.
• Models: AIclicks lets you pick 3, 4 or 6 from a list of 13. The Semrush AI Visibility Base page names mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity.
• Domains and countries: AIclicks Starter covers 1 website and 1 country, while Pro and Business lift both limits. Semrush's AI plans list 1 domain for brand performance analysis, and its plan pages show no country figure.
• Limits: Semrush lists 300 AI visibility reports a day on its AI plans. AIclicks caps monthly responses instead, at 4,650, 18,600 or 55,800.
• Beyond tracking: AIclicks adds a content agent with a monthly article allowance. Semrush adds classic search tools such as site audit, keyword research and position tracking, depending on the plan.
• Free entry: Semrush lists a free plan with no card required (10 reports a day and one demo project), a free AI Search Visibility Checker that takes a domain, and a 7-day free trial on paid plans. AIclicks lists a 3-day trial that needs a card, plus a free no-signup AI Visibility Checker that its page describes as a one-time snapshot of up to 5 prompts.

Cost: what to compare before you pay

Amounts differ in shape, so compare them on the same basis. Semrush's AI Visibility plan is priced per domain and its bundled plans include classic search tools, so part of the fee buys features you may or may not use. AIclicks sizes its plans by prompts, models and countries, with the article allowance included. Semrush's page showed local currency to the machine that fetched it, so US amounts need a US view.

Build a small sheet with one row per option and columns for tracked prompts, models, countries, domains, trial terms and refund terms, then add the monthly amount from each live page. Choose by use case

• Choose AIclicks if AI answers are the only thing you need to track, you want daily checks of 30 to 300 prompts, and a monthly article allowance is useful.
• Choose Semrush if you already use it, need keyword and site audit tools beside AI tracking, or want to start with a free report.
• Start with the free options if you cannot yet name ten prompts. The weekly routine and the free checkers from both vendors cost nothing.

Questions to ask both vendors before you pay

• How is a response or a report counted, and what happens when I reach the limit?
• How is each model queried, and can a plan's model list change during a term?
• Can I run more than one brand or client, and are there extra fees for that?
• What are the trial, renewal and refund terms, and do the amounts shown include tax?
